Charloft Stuff

1. How did you choose/create the muse you use?

One day, after taking too much asthma medication (by accident of course), I was reading some FF comics (particulary the Byrne and Claremont eras, because I wanted to write the fic to end all fics where Val Von Doom and Kristoff Vernard got together, and thought about how cool it would be (Read crack) if they actually had a child.

Of course, if the two did have a child, it'd have to have powers. So I thought to myself, hmm. What would the next generation of cosmically enhanced Uberfreaks, I mean Richards children have? She couldn't be as powerful as Hyperstorm, but still, she'd get some of the good stuff. So I decided that she'd mostly have her mother's time travel ability and a dangerously uncontrolled reality manipulation power. Since Val Von Doom supposedly had her own, and that was how she countered Franklin's abilities. (Oh Claremont, you provide me the good crack!)

I then thought, because this was crack of course, and because Val and Kristoff should have never gotten together, that this child would be the bringer of the apocalypse (Which again, pretty normal for those Richards kids!). So she one day accidentally raises a bunch of Zombies when she wishes her mother was still alive. Then later on she raises more Zombies, but this time it's because she actually wants to destroy the world...

2. What do you hope to get from this community?

I already answered this question before... but... I like reading what other people write, other people's insights, and variety is fun.

3. What would you like others to know about your character?
I like FAQs...

Molly lives with her Grandmother as her father kinda went crazy after her Mom died. When he's not in rehab, or thinking he's Dr. Doom, her Dad happens to live with her and Grandma.

Molly is a good kid. Except she has some issues that would normally come from a) a dead parent b) a druggie parent c) a crazy uncle d) overprotective Grandma/Guardian d) being named after a dead person e) growing up around superheroes.

She wants to make the world a better place, but she's also leaning towards believing that the world is doing all of the bad things on purpose because it wants to end. Yes, she believes the earth is suicidal.

4. What would you like others to know about you?
Hello, my name is Jenn and you may remember me from such other muse surveys as vondoomed and wannabemarvel .

5. What would you like to know about the other folks in this community?
See Kristoff's answer back in the day, aka 2 weeks ago.</lj></lj>

And if Molly had a business card, this would never be it. Consider it the same level of crack as my character...

Just Prompts - Shrimp Secret

Tell me a secret.

There's a good chance that the giant shrimp yelling at Molly isn't actually real. Then again, given the fact that she's recently discovered a knack for making the unreal possible, the odds are just as good that he does exists.

She has good reason to be scared. Not only is she allergic to any and all kind of shellfish, but this shrimp keeps repeating the word "apocalypse" and "zombie". Things that don't belong in reality, exactly like her new friend Mr. Giant Talking Shrimp.

So Molly has two options, accept that this shrimp is real and her throat really is attempting to close up on her, or accept that she's gone crazy and is definitely hallucinating. Both options aren't exactly the best, and death vs insanity isn't something she really wants to contemplate at this point in time.

Obviously she could run to grandma, make an attempt to lose the crustacean and ask her to kill the damn thing (just in case it really does exist) or she can stay there and try to make it go away. The first option would only work if the thing did exist, and right now Molly's not too sure if it really does. She doesn't know if insanity runs in the family, but she's not exactly keen to find out and have her grandma send her to the funny farm.

This leaves the second option. Stay there while her throat is wanting to close on her and try and will the monster away. She doesn't really think this plan will work, since she did the same thing the other day, and the day before that, and the day before that.

She was really getting tired of this. Why wouldn't the stupid talking shrimp leave her alone?!

AA Muses - Higher Power

Step Two. Prompt No. 1

Describe your Higher Power.

Age 3
The little girl sat quietly in her mother's lap. This was her third service and she was absolutely fascinated by everything that went on in the church. She never knew the words to any of the hymns, but little Molly thought they were beautiful. Her mother could sing along to every one and Molly hoped that she too would be able to do the same one day.

When the service had ended, the Reverend approached them and Molly was stunned. From their pew, his robes were very dull, but up close they were almost magical. Shiny and bright, and his smile was so nice. He talked to her mother about God, and Baptisms, and other things Molly didn't understand at the time.

Molly came home that day and beamed brightly as she told her father about her experiences at church. She was so excited she didn't even notice her mother mouthing "Be nice, and just listen." in her father's direction.

Age 5
Sunday school had become a regular part of Molly's life. Despite her parents best efforts to keep her life stable, it wasn't always possible, but Sunday school always was.

When her mother picked her up, she would eagerly tell her all about her day and what was learned, never once stopping for a breath. Her mother would always smile, and nod in agreement. She was glad she had found something that fascinated her daughter so much.

When her father picked her up, Molly would always talk about other things. She'd learned that Daddy wasn't very keen on talking about God or any of the things she had learned. Instead they would talk about where Mommy was, what they would do, and how long Molly might need to stay with Grandma if he'd need to go help out with Mom's work.

When Grandma picked her up, Molly knew she could talk about anything, and ask any questions. Grandma was the most religious one in the family and she was always willing to share her wisdom and stories with the little girl. Molly would ask her about God, the bad people, and Hell, and Grandma never scolded her like certain Sunday school teachers would.

Age 10
The little girl sat quietly in the pew right beside her father and grandmother. She knew that God now had her mother, but she was still sad. The dress she wore was black and nothing at all like her normal Sunday attire, the hymns were not as cheery as they'd once been, and she didn't understand why her father was clinging so tightly to her hand.

It wasn't until the service was done, and one of her mother's former teammates came to give his condolensces that Molly began to understand why her father was holding onto her so tightly. He was afraid he'd lose her too.

When the two were walking to the car, Molly quietly whispered "It's okay, Daddy. Mommy's in heaven with God. They're gonna make sure we stay okay."

Her father sighed, despite his past and his reputation he still could not tell his daughter that God was a delusional fantasy. He leaned down and hugged the little girl, hoping she never lost that innocence or faith like he had.

Age 15
She still attended weekly sermons, still as quiet as she'd ever been. At night she would pray, and tell her mother about her day, her father and the new man in Grandma's life. She shared her hopes, her fears and her dreams. Molly truly believed both her mother and God were listening and helping both her and her father.

When she realized she'd finally inherited some form of power, she thanked her lord profusely and promised her Mother that she would use this gift to make things better.

It wasn't until she had raised the dead when she realized that God had bigger plans for her. All her life she'd spoken to him without answer, but now he was talking back. He'd given her a gift and he obviously wanted her to use it, not just for herself, but for the world. To save it, to heal it, to bring everyone closer to him. End all the pain, end all the suffering.

And in the end, it would be her faith in God and his plans that would cause the ultimate destruction of her world and universe.

Molly Vernard
Marvel OC
712 words

Just Prompts - Hero or Villain

Be honest. Would you rather be the hero or the villain?

Hero, I guess.

I mean I don't want to be one of those heroes, you know? The ones who wear costumes and fight super villains and get killed. I don't think I want to do that. <strike>Grandma so wouldn't let me. And I'm kinda scared of them.</strike> I mean, you don't need to be a superhero to be a hero, right? You can be a hero by being normal and helping with building stuff, or like in hospitals, you know? Like being a doctor, or a nurse? Helping the really really sick and saving them from dying by taking care of them, I mean, making sure they stay all healthy and that.

[Private]

I heard Grandma talking on the phone yesterday. I think she was talking to Uncle Frank, I don't know. She was saying she didn't know how to help, because like, there's no more special doctors in New York for people like her. I mean, she's not actually doing that anymore, but she still has friends, right? Mom had friends too, so Grandma'd be worried about them too.

When I was little, Mom told me a story about Night Nurse, she used to take care of all the Super People because hospitals wouldn't. Mom said she was really nice, and it was sad that she stopped doing that.

I don't want to be like Mom, I mean, I do want to be like Mom, with the strength and the amazing, you know? But I don't want to do what she did. I've kinda been wondering about being a Night Nurse, like when I finish school and I go to College. I could help, and be you know, like Mom, and not disappoint everybody. They have families too, and I don't think their families should be all ruined because no one would help them, you know?

Molly Vernard
Original Character (Marvel Comics)

Ammended Universe Information (Ripped from my personal journal)

After Cassie Lang dumped Kristoff, he became depressed and crazy. Val stopped him from trying to blow shit up with his standard grade ripoff doom armortm, she succeeded and he was pissy. She asked him the whole "Why the hell are you blowing up MY city" and Kristoff acted like he was better than her and she should know why. Because Kristoff like blondes, and armor, whereas Val likes armor, and people who are way to hoity toighty for their own good, a super secret relationship occurs.

Then when everyone finds out, there is a freakout. Then several years later, the two don't get married because they are awesome like that, and Val becomes a full member of the Avengers with Molly Hayes. 2-3 years later, Molly Anna Vernard is born and everyone freaks out again because, well, it's just fucked up. (Molly was named after Molly, by the way, and was also her godmother). Molly's godfather was obviously Franklin.

Typical happy family moments with Kristoff randomly being insane, and Val fighting monsters, meanwhile Molly is cute and NOT a mutant yet. Everyone is relieved. There are Christmases with the Avengers, and remaining F4 (because all the men died years ago, fear my use of real canon!). Hayes and Franklin get married because Molly kicks ass and is pretty much perfect because he's grown up surrounded by strong competent ass kicking women.

Fast forward ten years and both Molly Hayes and Valeria die saving the world (awwww, family tradition, well, not really in Molly's case) and everyone is all emo. Franklin runs off to Africa because, Africa is swell and he needs to get away from all the death New York had. Kristoff suffers a severe nervous breakdown and Molly gets to live with her Grandma. Eventually Kristoff moves in too because he keeps falling on and off the abusing medication wagon, and figures it's the best thing for his daughter. Grandma Susan is also declared the girl's legal guardian.

Shortly after she turns 16, that wonderful X-Gene kicks in, and because every canon Richards grandkid gets more uberly freakishly powerful, she gets a fraction of that(none of the telepathy, none of the astral, blah blah square the powers to infinity). Her Momma's time dancing, and a very uncontrolled version of reality manipulation.

It all leads up to the (almost) destruction of that universe when she raises her dead mother and godmother in an attempt to fix the world. Unfortunately, she also raised a few other dead people, who happened to return as flesh and brain eating zombies. All over the freaking world. The apolypse is only stopped because her Uncle happened to be like the most powerful man on the planet, and he happened to know where certain other powerful mutants were. With their powers of wind, air, water, earth and heart they saved the day and returned the zombies to the ground.

Then one other day, Molly decides the world doesn't want to exist, because that's why it keeps throwing out diseases and super villains, only to find out that it really doesn't want to exist. Why? Because it shouldn't! Turns out the Universe didn't want her parents to get together (Which really, if you know the canon, Kristoff is her uncle or sibling, depending on which version of Val Von Doom you beleive, or if you believe in the whole Kristoff is also Reed's daddy's other son) and the entire fact that it happened was because the Watcher sort of pushed the two together because he was bored.

So the universe is destroyed, and everything goes back to right in the Multiverse. Except Molly still exists and is kinda crazy because of a) crazy powers, b) her entire life is based on a sick joke by the watcher and <strike>c) her parents are dead!!!!</strike>

So she hides out in space forever and ever until a giant space shrimp finally eats her. The end.

AA Muses - Powerless

Step 1. Prompt # 2 - Powerless.

The strongest people always have power - like real powers. Mom had them, Dad didn't. When Mom was alive Dad was okay. Maybe she had a secret power of keeping Dad strong. He had a problem when he was a kid, Grandma told me that, but Mom made him stop. Maybe she kept him strong for all those years, maybe it wasn't really Dad. I used to think he was super strong, he lived every day with these voices and stuff. Sometimes he talked to himself, like fought, out loud but it was only for a few minutes, then he'd be better.

When Mom died, he just stopped being better. Like the fights were longer, and sometimes he yelled at the curtains for making him a robot. I didn't get it, I still don't, really. I think that's why he started to take so much of his pills. They made him strong again, but then they stopped. I read on Wikipedia that's how they work. They stop working if you take them too long, so you take more, and more and more then you're addicted and crazier. Dad's sort of better now, but he's not right?

Grandma's strong too she's still here. I mean, she's survived so much, two husbands, two brothers, her parents and my Mom. She did it without any help, you know that kind of help. I think Mom got that power from her, I really do. I don't think I have it. Maybe I got that from Dad? Not the crazy, but the whole no powers things.

Grandma says it's a blessing I'm powerless, that I don't want them, but I think if I did I'd be stronger than I am. I mean, Look at Mom and Grandma. they're the strongest women ever. I just wish I was stronger, more in control, more like them, you know.? Strong enough to keep Dad sane like Mom did. Make him not need to keep taking the pills.

Bio: Molly Anna Vernard was born March 13, 2015 to Valeria Von Doom and Kristoff Vernard. She's spent her entire life in New York City among her parents, and extended family.

Following a tried and true family tradition, Molly's mother died saving the world (as Valeria had remained Marvel Girl until her death). Her mother's death lead to her father's renewed interest in prescription medications, and the ten year old girl beginning to live with her grandmother while her father recovered.

The Baroness Von Doom, also known as Susan Storm-Richards acts as her legal guardian due to her father's inability. This does not mean that Molly does not see her father, he currently resides with the two and (albeit it hesitantly) agreed to provide Susan with legal guardianship due to his inabilities and addictions. This decision lead to her permanent enrollment in UNIS, as it had been called into question after her father's repeated times in rehab.

Molly is the first Storm in many generations to not have the typical blond hair and blue eyes. She does however retain several key Storm personality traits, such as temper, relentless will, and loyalty. Like her mother, she has a sense of adventure and has been grounded many times by her grandmother for doing things that Valeria did years ago. She physically resembles her father, and unfortunately inherited his predisposition for brooding.

Luckily for Molly, many of New York's citizens have mostly forgotten (or are too young to remember when they were still operating) the Fantastic Four. While at school, Molly uses the alias "Molly Storm" as many people still recognize the names Vernard and Von Doom, as Marvel Girl was publicly known hero and the constant target of media attention. Very few teachers and students know her true identity.

Recently, Molly has been experiencing dreams that are very vivid and seem to be coming true, or have truthfully depicted past events that she should not remember. She also seems to be conveniently altering minor things to her will, like test scores and Grandma Susan's answers.

Also, like other second generation Storm-Richards children, she poses a major threat to humanity, and is prone to being one of those pesky apocalypse starters, who might think about doing it sometimes. Desperate measures and such (seriously, only one or two of Franklin's kids didn't want to kill the world, or cause it.).

Abilities: Much to everyone's relief, Molly spent the majority of her life without powers. Shortly after turning 16, she started to manifest a latent time travel ability. By her 18th birthday she will have the uncontrolled ability to travel through time, and manipulate reality.

Friends: Molly has two close friends from school, Shannon and Alanah. The three have known each other since Kindergarten and are the only students who know who Molly identity. She spent many nights sleeping at their house.

Origins: Molly is the final creation of a crack universe created by sanstexte (which actually turned very serious) in her head. In this universe, a time displaced Kristoff Vernard finds himself on the same earth as Valeria Von Doom. After his relationship with Cassie Lang doesn't work out, he's introduced to Valeria by accident one night. The two hit it off due to mutual interests and Kristoff's armour fetish. One day the two have a baby (much to EVERYONE'S dismay). Then in true Marvel fashion, one parent dies and the other goes crazy (but to be honest, Kristoff really is crazy in canon) so she's raised by Susan Storm. Then one day she starts to manifest crazy mutant powers (like ALL Richards related children. Cosmic rays are awesome!) and almost causes a Zombie Apocalypse by accidentally raising the dead (by combination of time travel and reality manipulation).

Thanks to an old journal with underscore, a free rename token and possibly too much Symbicort after an asthma attack, this character was born, and stuck.

Other: This is for my own sick amusement, since I actually play a version of Valeria and a version of Kristoff (who've ironically never met, and never will meet, mmkay?). Any other canon characters mentioned are not set in stone and exist purely in my mind. Feel free to ignore.

Of course she's not actually about to admit to anyone in public who her parents actually are. She's been raised not to.
